What we're about
Arts Bournemouth aims to enhance and market the arts offer of Bournemouth to:
- Put Bournemouth back on the UK’s arts and culture map
- Help attract new visitor markets
- Help attract new creative industries
- Help to stimulate the day and night time economies
- Help attract and retain graduates
We do this through delivering:
- Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival
A multi art form festival which launched in 2011. The 2011 festival ran from 3rd September to 15th October. The 2012 festival ran from 29 September to 29 October. The 2013 festival will run from Friday 20 September to Saturday 12 October. Take a look at our previous festival programmes:

- Arts Bournemouth online
The Arts Bournemouth website is an online magazine for arts and culture in the town, it features what’s on, news, an artists’ index, acts as a resource for funding and job opportunities for the arts community, and all the news and programme for the festival.
- Arts Bournemouth Cinema
Arts Bournemouth Cinema brings some unique ‘pop-up’ cinema experiences, not to be found at the multiplex, to Bournemouth at various spaces that fit with the theme. A new way to experience and enjoy film, these events bring together film, performance and live music in some inspired and surprising settings. Arts Bournemouth has been commended nationally for playing a pro-active role in stimulating audiences for film and championing the new ways in which film is engaged with by new audiences. New for 2013, following a successful bid to the National Lottery through the BFI and Creative England, is an on-going programme of Arts Bournemouth pop-up live cinema events, the first of which takes place on 14 February. This event features two screenings, with a difference, of the multi-award winning The Artist (2011) at the retro Pier Theatre, Bournemouth. Find out more and book tickets here. Past events have included a Valentine’s night screening of Brief Encounter at the Pier Theatre with an introduction from one of the film’s stars, and a screening of Matthieu Kassovitz’s award-winning La Haine at The Winchester with simultaneous screenings taking place in London, Paris and Brighton.

We work in partnership with the Arts University Bournemouth, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BH Live, Pavilion Dance/Dance South West, Activate Performing Arts.
